02 Día de los Muertos Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a holiday celebrated throughout all of Mexico. Unlike other popular celebrations, this multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember and pray for friends and family members who have died. This gathering is to help support their spiritual journey. Families will go to cemeteries to be with the souls of the departed and build private altars containing photos, memorabilia and favorite food and beverages of the their lost loved ones. Planning for this holiday will sometimes be made throughout the entire year, including what goods to be offered to the dead. Traditionally toys are brought for the children’s altars, and tequila is brought for the altars of the adults. Calaveras de azucar (small skulls made of sugar) are also popular during this three- day long event. Day of the Dead is not recognized as an official public holiday.

02 J Balvin at El Squid Roe

04 Cruising for Critters

Enjoy wine, appetizers, and soothing music as the sun sets over the horizon in the Pacific. All to benefit the important work being done by LCHS in the community of Los Cabos. Los Cabos Humane Society offers accessible spay and neuter surgeries, as well as adoption and foster care programs. The LCHS operates solely by donations, so you can help them continue their important work by attending the sunset cruise benefit. The benefit is sponsored by Pez Gato and boarding begins at 4:30 pm on the marina at Gate #4 (located near Cruise Ship Pier & Dolphin Center). 12 Los Cabos IRONMAN

Los Cabos offers a beautiful swim in the Sea of Cortez, a challenging yet scenic bike course where desert meets the ocean and a flat run course where the weather conditions are perfect this time of year. The world famous triathlon is a grueling 2.4 mile (3.86 km) swim, 112 mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and 26.22 mile (42.20 km) marathon run. The IRONMAN triathlon is raced in that order and without a break. It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. Most races have a limited time of 17 hours to complete. Any participant who manages to complete the triathlon within that time frame is designated a true IRONMAN. 08-12 LOS CABOS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The Los Cabos International Film Festival is the perfect fix for all of the film buffs in Baja Sur. This local festival aims to contribute positively to the growth of global film culture, focusing on Mexico, United States and Canada while supporting their filmmakers. This year, the festival seeks to continue promoting an encounter dedicated to explore bold, reflexive and inspiring cinematographic proposals for international audiences. The selected projects represent the great talent which directors and producers from Mexico, the USA, Canada, and Latin America offer to the world’s film and television industries. That is why year after year the Festival creates spaces and activities promoting film and television production, consolidating its position in national and international markets. Film such as ‘BATTLE OF THE SEXES’, ‘DOWNSIZING’, ‘MOLLY’S GAME’ and ‘THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI’, will have their Mexican and Latin American premieres during Los Cabos international film festival. This year it was announced that there will be five world premieres, two international premieres and six Mexican premieres. 25 Comedy for Critters

What do you get when you mix Minnesota Nice with Harlem Badass?? A night filled with laughter! For one night only, go to Rita’s Fajitas Bar and Grill to enjoy a rare comedy night in Cabo. The best part is, you will be supporting Cabo Critters in the process.Cabo Critters is an animal rescue group of volunteers working in the communities of Los Cabos to rescue and rehabilitate local animals. Valiantly, the rescue group goes into the communities to help spay and neuter healthy street animals, provides education to families and children about how to care for a pet, and is a leader in the fight against animal cruelty. Cabo Critters is a no kill shelter and not only tries to save every animal they encounter, but to help it know love in its life. The shelter relies heavily on fundraising and donations to continue to provide desperately needed services to these animals. Rita’s Fajitas doors will open at 6pm for the start of the silent auction, as well as cocktails. Buffet (offering chicken, beef, or vegetarian options) will open at 6:30, followed by games and prizes at 7:20. 7:45 is the main event—the Fletch comedy show! After the show, the silent auction will close and raffles will be drawn—including the chance to win a sunset cruise for 6 donated by Rantin N’ Ravin Fishing Charters. Not ready to go home just yet? Stay and dance the night away to live music by Brian Flynn and Maury. Advance tickets are $45 USD before November 19 and $50 after.
