By International Community FoundationThe International Community Foundation (ICF) is an international nonprofit organization, which seeks to inspire international charitable giving by U.S. donors, particularly those with an interest in Northwest Mexico, to strengthen civil society and promote sustainable communities. Due to the persistent challenges of poverty, corruption, migratory populations and overall lack of access to basic resources, it is very important for ICF to call on our committed donor community to support these needs with flexible and responsive funding. Knowing that together we can create meaningful change, ICF has provided many grants to organizations in Baja California Sur which reflect our collective efforts to help improve the daily lives of people from urban to rural areas. We are thrilled to announce our new 2020 Baja California Sur Giving Guide! In this Giving Guide, ICF provides a list of organizations in BCS that have been assessed by our due diligence and program teams. Within this region, these organizations represent the “best of the best” – providing quality education and healthcare to populations in need; preserving and promoting the diverse cultural heritage of Mexico; and protecting Mexico’s unique marine and terrestrial areas. As we are, you will be impressed by the dedication and impact of these organizations in Baja California Sur! Within BCS, ICF has Friends of Funds located in the following areas: Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, East Cape (including Cabo Pulmo), La Paz, Loreto, Laguna San Ignacio, and Sea of Cortez. There are organizations like Amigos de los Niños, which provides quality medical care for children with no option or healthcare provider. The Palapa Society of Todos Santos develops and administers scholarships and educational programs for the benefit of local children and their families. Furthermore, efforts to protect the environment are strongly present. Comunidad y Biodiversidad (COBI), for example, promotes policy and legislative reform that supports responsible fishing and helps fisherman improve their practices. We are always amazed by our partners’ commitment to work together to create long lasting, positive impacts in vulnerable communities. ICF also takes the moment to thank those who have supported our mission. Please check out our new Baja California Sur Giving Guide 2020 and join us in creating meaningful change in this region today by donating to the organizations that focus on areas you are passionate about! Please view the BCS Giving Guide (download below).
