Los Cabos, Mexico (August 26, 2024) – Registration is now open for those who dream of teeing it up in an official PGA TOUR event as the World Wide Technology Championship will stage three different qualifying tournaments this fall which combined will offer a total of six playing positions in the annual FedExCup event. Celebrating its 18th year as Mexico’s leading and longest-running PGA TOUR event, the WWT Championship in 2024 will once more conduct its qualifying initiatives exclusively for Mexican players as well as the Monday Open Qualifier.

Tournament officials, in conjunction with the PGA TOUR and the PGA of America’s Southern California Section, have announced that the Monday Open Qualifier will be held in Los Cabos at Palmilla Golf Club on the Arroyo-Mountain course on November 4. As is customary on the PGA TOUR, four successful players from the Monday open qualifying tournament will earn their positions in the 120-player field of the championship event.

Additionally, Diamante will once again welcome the best players from across Mexico for the Clasificatorio Mexicano presented by National Car Rental and the Mexico Match Play. Both events are exclusively for Mexican players, as part of the WWT Championship’s commitment to supporting golf in Mexico and those Mexican professionals and amateurs who aspire to compete at the game’s highest level. A tradition for the last 10 years, the two qualifying events for Mexican players are scheduled for October 7-9 and will be contested on Diamante’s El Cardonal Golf Course.

“We are glad to once more offer several avenues for talented golfers to earn a position in our FedExCup event,” said Tournament Director Joe Mazzeo. “The PGA TOUR is where the world’s best golfers compete each week and we are proud to provide opportunities for multiple players to earn a tee time on golf’s preeminent tour.”

Open to all players, both pros and amateurs who meet certain handicap requirements, the Monday Qualifier will feature a field of approximately 72 players. Those who are not exempt must participate in a pre-qualifier, three of which will be contested in Southern California on October 30 and 31 and in Los Cabos on and November 1. On October 7, the Clasificatorio Mexicano presented by National Car Rental will award the tournament’s first qualifying position through a 27-hole stroke play qualifier limited to Mexican pros and amateurs. Players finishing in positions 2-17 in the stroke play qualifier will advance to the Mexico Match Play. Entering its fourth year in this format, the Mexico Match Play is a 16-player elimination tournament conducted over two days with the winner earning an exemption into the WWT Championship.
