This year’s LIGA MAC Annual fundraising gala will be held on Tuesday, February 5 at Don Sanchez Restaurant. The gala event funds a large portion of LIGA MAC’s Educational Support program throughout the year. This year will feature a flamenco theme, with a live show featuring the musical group Mala Rumba accompanied by traditional Spanish dancers, balloon lottery, and delicious Spanish food with tapas and sangria. 8th – Wine and Cheese Sneak Peak
The Todos Santos Open Studio Tour Wine and Cheese Sneak Peek is a special Fundraiser for Children’s Art Programs on Friday, February 8 from 6pm-8pm at the Palapa Learning Center. The Palapa Society of Todos Santos, A.C., founded in 2003, is a multi-cultural non-profit Mexican Civil Association. Their mission is the development and administration of scholarship, educational, and environmental programs for the benefit of local children and their families. Tickets cost $150 MXN or $10 USD, and include 2 glasses of wine and cheese. Day of event tickets will be available at The Palapa Learning Center. A portion of each art sale will be donated to The Palapa Society’s programs.
8th thru 10th – Todos Santos Open Studio Tour
Each February, a community of artists opens the doors to their studios, inviting you to explore down rambling dirt roads and discover what is hiding behind their walls. The experience of visiting an artist’s studio is completely different from viewing their work in the formal setting of a gallery. It’s a chance to connect more intimately with the artist, ask questions, discuss observations, see his or her tools of the trade and even gain insights into the artist’s personal working process. Tours are on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm and cost $250 MXN or $15 USD. Local students are free. Tickets can be purchased online at: bit.ly/TSOpenStudioTour. 9th & 10th – Los Barriles East Cape 300
The 10th edition of the Los Barriles East Cape 300 is the first race of the 2019 Baja Pro Desert Series. This high energy race is held on February 9 and 10 and includes both motos and autos. The race starts in Los Barriles and zips along through El Coro, Cabo Pulmo, Palo Escopeta, El Ranchito, with a checkpoint in Miraflores, then onto Las Cuevas, El Machete, Mesa Cuero, and finally back to Los Barriles. 10th – Los Cabos Half Marathon
The Los Cabos Half Marathon is a 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K race starting and finishing at Plaza Mijares in Historical Downtown San José del Cabo, on February 10 at 7am. The 10K and 5K routes are totally flat and designed with families in mind, while the half marathon is more challenging and takes runners into Puerto Los Cabos, across the marina and town of Playita, then back the same route close to the San José Estuary and on to the finish line in the main square.
