San José del Cabo Organic Market at Huerta María

Saturdays 9 am to 3 pm through May The largest market in Los Cabos, San José del Cabo’s organic farmers’ market is held behind downtown at the verdant “Huerta María” (Maria’s Farm). The many vendors offer locally grown fresh produce and fruit, herbs, and delicious homemade Mexican foods like sopes, and tamales as well as vegetarian and vegan offerings. Farm fresh eggs, yogurt, artesanal ice cream, baked goods, cheeses, chicken, beef and pork are also on hand along with juices, sauces, organic coffee and local honey. Artists’ booths brim with crafts, clothing, art, photography and jewelry, plus a well-stocked bookstall specializing in Baja and Mexican themes. Live music, workshops, yoga, massage and holistic services, and fun activities for kids make this market appealing to all ages and tastes. The festive atmosphere lasts throughout the day but plan to arrive early for the best selection. Be sure to stop by the non-profit Los Cabos Humane Society and Liga MAC booths for gifts, cards and calendars. Fridays 9 am to 1 pm through April Located at Kilometer 27 of the Tourist Corridor SW of San José, the Farmers Market at Shoppes at Palmilla is a wonderful way to spend a relaxing Friday morning. With a good selection of fresh produce, you’ll find eggs, dairy, poultry and fresh fish along with artisan baked goods, regional honey and delicious prepared foods, all in an upscale environment. Along with the organic bounty, find fresh flowers, herbs and plants, plus health, beauty and spa products. Browse beautiful arts and crafts, clothing and textiles, ceramics and jewelry while enjoying an ocean view of San José Bay. The Shoppes at Palmilla also boasts fine restaurants, boutiques and shops, galleries and a large, well-stocked organic supermarket.

Cabo San Lucas Organic Farmer’s Market at Penny Lane in Pedregal

Wednesdays and Saturdays 7:30 am to 1 pm Open year round, the Cabo San Lucas Organic Farmer’s Market is a very popular local spot to meet up with friends. Shop for fine organic produce, prepared foods and delicious baked goods (ask for their gluten-free items), and enjoy healthy breakfasts and fresh juices. You’ll find seafood, organic chicken, eggs, cheeses, herbs and fruits, and a range of to go items, including probiotic-rich kimchi and tepache. This cozy market features a selection of lovely arts and crafts, a Humane Society table on Saturdays, and a menu of health and wellness services. Bajaus, Los Zacatitos

Wednesdays 9 am to 11 am A drive out to this small and friendly organic market at Los Zacatitos is an enjoyable way to spend a Wednesday morning at its community center, Bajaus, which also features a lending/exchange library. Find fresh organic produce, baked goods, homemade foods with vegetarian and vegan options, handcrafted clothing, jewelry and a variety of other crafts and items. Stay for breakfast and enjoy the laid- back atmosphere and good company.

Organic Market at Hotel VidaSOUL Boca de Vinorama

Fridays 9-11 am This new organic market at Hotel VidaSOUL features fresh local organic produce, chicken, eggs, cheese, tortillas, salsas, tamales, and chile rellenos, plus handmade local arts and crafts. Come hungry and bring a friend or a few. While you’re there buy a gift for that special someone or pet to support the nonprofit East Cape Animal Rescue group. Have breakfast or stay for lunch and drinks and bring along swimsuits; day passes are available for the pool. VidaSOUL is located just east of the junction of the Palo Escopeta and Coast roads, look for the large Crossroads sign.

Los Barriles Community Market

Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm Held at the Los Barriles City Park, this lively market features anywhere from 30 to 50 vendors with a small area for Mexican wares. Find veggies, prepared foods and snacks, breads, eggs, honey, jams, jellies, pickles, tequila, clothing and shoes, jewelry, plants… you name it. A large variety of goods and worth the drive to this easygoing and friendly town on the Sea of Cortez. Open through April 1.

Pacific Side Markets

Baja Beans Organic Market, Pescadero

Sundays 8 am to 1pm Baja Beans Roasting Company and Café’s Organic and Artisan Market features a welcoming family atmosphere with live music from local bands in the small community of Pescadero, five miles south of Todos Santos. The market brings together producers from the region featuring a great variety of fresh produce and prepared food including fruit jams, chile jellies, fresh farm eggs and cheese, art and handcrafts and locally produced organic cleaning chemicals. The Café is open daily from 8 am through 4 pm with excellent coffee drinks and delicious baked goods.

La Esquina Farmer’s Market, Todos Santos

Wednesdays 9 am to 12 pm If you’re in Todos Santos any given Wednesday morning, don’t miss a great opportunity to directly support the local community at La Esquina’s Farmer’s Market. Enjoy items such as organic greens, local cheeses and delicious tamales. What’s on hand is always evolving so make it a weekly outing.
