DESTINO LOS CABOS VIP COCKTAIL – Destino Los Cabos held their third annual invite only VIP cocktail party at the Los Cabos Open of Surf on Saturday June 16. Despite a tropical storm just two days before, the party was a tremendous success and well attended by Destino clients, advertisers, pro surfers and other important business owners and leaders in the Los Cabos community. The event included music by special guest DJ and pro surfer Dimity Stolye, an assortment of delicious food by Felipe Bertin, boozie popsicles from Citlalmina Paletas, a Mezquila shot station hosted by Santo Mezquila, and amazing raffle prizes courtesy of our very generous advertisers announced by World Surf League commentator Chris Cote! A special thank you to the talented Bonnie Chase and her hardworking team at Bliss Events for pulling everything together. This party has become our favorite event of the year and we can’t wait to do again in 2019! @DestinoLosCabos
REMEXICO REAL ESTATE LED SURF NIGHT – REmexico Real Estate partnered with the Los Cabos Open of Surf for an LED Surf Night party at Costa Azul beach on June 16 following the Destino VIP Cocktail. Local and pro surfers Toby Lehman, Warren Metcalfe, Alan Cleland, Stosh Lindsey, Andres Gastélum, and Lance Niederhaus shredded on LED lighted surfboards under the stars for an excited crowd of cheering spectators. CABO WEDDING EXPO – The first ever Cabo Wedding Expo took place on June 19 at the newly remodeled Baja Brewing Rooftop at Cachet Beach Hotel Los Cabos and Cabo Villas Beach Resort. Baja Brewing, with its incredible views of the famous Cabo San Lucas arch and Medano Beach hopes to become one of Cabo’s top new wedding venues. Expo founder Christina D. Gilliland of Cabo Beach Weddings successfully brought together 37 wedding vendors from flowers, rentals, photography, video, officiants, yachts, transportation, DJs, live bands, hair/makeup, fireworks, etc. and over 75 local wedding planners together for a night food, open bar, live entertainment, fireworks and gifts. @baja.brewing
STARS & STRIPES TOURNAMENT – The 22nd Annual Stars & Stripes Fishing and Golf Tournament took place June 28 to July 1. The tournament was originally created to honor the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, but now has expanded to include seven children’s charities based in Southern California and Mexico. In addition to scheduled tournament festivities, organizers brought down a team of medical professionals to perform 48 surgeries for local children and adults in need. I had the opportunity to attend the Friday night cocktail reception, silent auction, country themed dinner and concert on the beach featuring The Downtown Band at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort and was very impressed with all the remarkable things they are able to achieve each year! To date, the tournament has raised more than $30 million for youth charities over the course of its 21-year history including over $3.6 million this year alone! @starsandstripestournament
LADERA SAN JOSÉ COCKTAIL EVENT – Ladera San José is a new residential housing project located in Cerro Colorado in San José del Cabo (behind the Koral Center). The finished development will consist of 1- 2- and 3- bedroom condos from approximately 1,300-1,800 square feet and 3- and 4- bedroom houses with roughly 2,600 A/C square feet, along with a clubhouse, walking trail, park and more. The whole project was developed with a deep respect for the environment and natural resources. On June 27, Laderas invited friends and family to the Terraza Roof Garden at the Hampton Inn for a birds eye view of their future location and special presentation of exciting things to come. Timeless materials such as stone, wood and concrete will be used with dyes extracted from the soil to allow the project to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. CABO SUMMER SPLASH – Boston invaded Cabo San Lucas for the first edition of the Cabo Summer Splash on July 1. Guests enjoyed three hours of premium open bar and molecular mixology by Master Mixologist Arturo Brown aboard the Cabo Blue Trimaran Sailing Boat. DJ Tavo, who used to live in and play at clubs all over Los Cabos, returned from his new home in Boston along with DJ Scream and DJ Eddie V for a lively 3 hours of non-stop boat party!
